The Bill Law Award is a legacy and tribute to the work of Dr Bill Law, Founding Fellow of NICEC, who died in April 2017. His work was recognised internationally and was significant in its impact on the way that career development is conceptualized and practised. The award will celebrate emerging innovation within the career development sector and importantly, the relationship between research, theory and practice

This online network meeting will explore how career guidance can best support and empower clients with additional learning needs. It will investigate:- The skills and approaches that build the capacity of career guidance professionals to empower clients. The importance of advocacy and networking with a range of partners and stakeholders. Pressures faced by practitioners and how reflective practice and supervision and support strengthens practice. The role that employers can play in supporting transition.

The research and writing in this issue reflect a variety of concerns and include articles that focus on diverse applications of theory, concepts and approaches to practice. As the journal becomes more widely read internationally it is encouraging to see three articles from outside the UK (Canada, Ireland and Romania).
