As we build up to the Festive break here at NICEC towers, we thought we'd look back over 2025 and recap some of the highlights of our 50th year beginning with a look at Issues 54 and 55 of the NICEC Journal. We're also going to be counting down the most popular Journal articles during the last 12 months!

Issue 54

Edited by Dr Fiona Christie, Issue 54 was an open call issue that included article submissions on a broad range of careers topics from authors around the globe. You can find brilliant and emphatic pieces of writing on the use of digital tools in career development, career counselling with Women Survivors of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) and embedding a Career Stage Framework into Higher Education teaching in a UK setting at our Journal site.

Issue 55

Later in the year, Issue 55 (edited by Emily Róisín Reid) was a Special collection focussing on Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) in career development. This collection is a powerful edition that addresses where Career Guidance practice finds itself in the middle of this turbulent decade. But, as Reid writes, "there is clear evidence that the career guidance community can find ways to resist through creative practices designed to uphold justice and equity." You can find Issue 55 freely available on our Journal site
