NICEC Welcomes Professor Pete Robertson as New Chair

We are delighted to announce that Professor Pete Robertson has been elected as the new Chair of the National Institute of Career Education and Counselling (NICEC).

On behalf of the Board, we extend a very warm welcome to Pete as he prepares to lead NICEC into its next chapter. Pete will officially assumed the role in January, bringing with him a distinguished reputation and a wealth of experience from across the careers sector.

Currently the Professor of Career Guidance at Edinburgh Napier University, Pete’s career spans over two decades of frontline practice, management, and academia. A Chartered Psychologist and Senior Fellow of the HEA, he has a long-standing commitment to the sector, notably serving as President of the Career Development Institute (CDI) from 2024 to 2025.

In taking up the mantle, Pete expressed his enthusiasm for the community:

"I am delighted to take on the role of Chair of NICEC, and I look forward to working with fellows and members to forge a positive future for our learned society. We are fortunate in being able to build on the enormous contribution of my predecessor in the role, Gill Frigerio."

The Board would like to take this opportunity to thank Gill Frigerio for her dedicated service and significant impact during her tenure as Chair. We look forward to the vision Pete will bring as we continue to support the career development community.
