Michael B Arthur

Michael is a writer and speaker on individuals taking ownership of their careers and the implications of that for career counseling, employment practice, human resource management, organizational behavior and leadership. He is co-author or co-editor of ten books, including the Handbook of Career Theory (1989), The Boundaryless Career (1996), The New Careers (1999), Knowledge at Work (2006), An Intelligent Career (2017/18) and Career Dynamics in a Global World: Indian and Western Perspectives (2020) He has also co-edited seven journal special issues and numerous scholarly articles about career phenomena and their interaction with the outside world. In 2006 he received the Academy of Management Everett C. Hughes Award for lifetime achievement in Career Studies. He is also a developer of the ICCS® Career Exploration System, and a contributor to Forbes.com on Career Ownership. Michael is a Professor Emeritus at Suffolk University, Boston, USA and a Visiting Professor at Cranfield University, UK.
