Jackie Sadler

Jackie Sadler has a degree in European Studies, qualifications in teaching, career guidance and management. Having worked as a careers officer with unemployed young people, she set up an LEA adult guidance service in 1986, also tutoring occasionally on Adult Guidance courses at Goldsmiths College and Anglia Polytechnic University. 

Her training, research and development work over the last 20 years as a freelance consultant have particularly focussed on quality improvement, the European dimension of guidance and supporting CLIAG within the learning and skills sector, including work-based learning and offender learning. She has written, or contributed to, over 20 publications. As the member of the LSDA’s retention and achievement team with the ‘guidance’ focus, she helped some 90 providers improve their success rates, and led the LSDA’s effective practice network for student guidance. For LSIS she has researched areas of effective practice; prepared papers on the impact of career learning and IAG, and supported providers trialling the Blueprint career competence framework. She has worked on 3 recent projects for CEDEFOP focusing on European practice relating to quality assurance, career development at work, and training routes / competence frameworks.
