Arti Kumar is a NICEC Fellow, also a National Teaching Fellow and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She has been a productive member of the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services, and winner of their AGCAS Lifetime Achievement Award. She was awarded an MBE in 2008 "in recognition of services to higher education". As ex-Associate Director of the Centre for Excellence in Teaching & Learning at the University of Bedfordshire, and previously as Senior Careers Adviser, she worked extensively on curriculum development projects, both within and outside the University, with the aim of developing effective pedagogy, tools and techniques for integrating personal and career development with good learning and employability. She has developed approaches that are authored in her book:

Arti is currently an independent development consultant, an external examiner for the QCG at University of East London, and an honorary visiting Research Fellow at University of Bedfordshire
