Dr Peter Mcilveen

Dr Peter McIlveen is an Associate Professor with the Faculty of Education at the University of Southern Queensland, Australia.  Currently, he is the Faculty’s Associate Dean (Academic).  Peter teaches courses, supervises postgraduate research degree students, and conducts research into career development learning, career education, career counselling, adult learning, and work-integrated learning.  He is particularly interested in the convergence of “mainstream” psychological theories of identity, self-efficacy, learning, and motivation with career development theories and practices. 

Peter is a psychologist and a member of the Australian Psychological Society’s College of Counselling Psychologists.  He is editor of the Australian Journal of Career Development and serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Vocational Behavior.  He is a representative on the National Executive Committee of the Career Development Association of Australia (CDAA).  Peter has served as president of the National Association of Graduate Career Advisory Services (NAGCAS) and as vice-president of the Career Industry Council of Australia (CICA).
