Charlie Ball

I’m the Head of Higher Education Intelligence at Graduate Prospects and a specialist on UK graduate employment and the skilled jobs market.

I have roles on a number of expert committees, including steering groups for the early and longitudinal Destination of Leavers of Higher Education surveys and I advise sector stakeholders on the graduate labour market. I’m also involved in the current review of outcomes data to replace the graduate destination survey, for the Higher Education Statistics Agency.

My current research includes regional graduate labour market information, and particular how and why graduates migrate around the UK; analysis of postgraduate outcome information; and labour shortages in the skilled graduate labour market. I present all around the country at events on these topics.

I write regularly for Guardian Careers and blogs on graduate data and research at and and you can follow me on Twitter @lmicharlie
